AADECA (Asociación Argentina de Control Automático)
[Argentine Association of Automatic Control].

What kind of association is AADECA?

Objectives.

The Argentine Association of Automatic Control – national member of IFAC (International Federation of Automatic Control) – is an unlucrative civil association of professionals whose mission is to gather those scientists, technicians, students, companies and institutions interested in some of the forms of automatic control and its applications, in order to enlarge the knowledge of this important scientific and technical area, as well as to disseminate the new opportunities that the applications of automation provide for the whole society.

[By-Laws (in Spanish only)]

AADECA as such, is a great family which maintains itself with the payment of membership fees and the collaboration of professionals who constitute AADECA'S Council Board, work committees and other members. Such professionals also collaborate ad-honorem in different activities.

Brief History of AADECA:

AADECA was first created as a professional group in 1960 and it became a founding member of IFAC in the same year. In 1968 AADECA was registered as “Sociedad Argentina de Control Automático” [Argentine Society of Automatic Control]. Since 1976, AADECA has borne its present denomination: “Asociación Argentina De Control Automático”.

Although our organization has its origins in the senates of important Universities of our country, the prestigious professionals who have led this institution have never lost the focus on the importance of the union amongst Universities, Industries and Users.

From its By-Laws to the planning of the different activities performed in more than forty years, AADECA's goal has always been to combine different opinions and to sum talents from different areas that constitute the association.

AADECA does not receive any subsidy from the state nor from private sectors and its resources come exclusively from the membership fee paid by its members and from the profits left by the activities organized by the association.

Up to the moment, 1800 papers have been presented in these events. Such presentations are undoubtedly an important source of investigation and application developed in the academic and industrial environment of Argentina.

Latin American Congresses

Together with other Latin American associations members of IFAC (from Brazil Chile Mexico and Colombia), AADECA organizes Latin American Congresses of Automatic Control to be hosted in every of the mentioned countries alternately.

In these Congresses, which are held up every two years, professionals and students of this environment submit papers of investigation on the field of automation. Such papers show the level of development achieved in the academic and industrial areas in different Latin American countries, enabling the dialogue among professionals who have similar socio-economic realities.

Intensive Courses and Seminars

AADECA organizes intensive courses, round tables and workshops related to subjects that are connected with automatic control and its applications. These courses are usually given with the contribution of professionals from prestigious academic institutions and enterprises. Members of our association can participate in such activities with significant discounts. Furthermore, the Council Board intends to extend these courses to the rest of Argentina.

Material handed out in these courses, as long as authorized by the corresponding lecturers, are made available on our website exclusively for those members who were not able to attend such courses for different reasons. This especially benefits members who live in other provinces of Argentina than Buenos Aires.
